Refund and Cancellation Policy

Last updated: 10 December 2025

This Refund and Cancellation Policy explains how refunds and cancellations are handled for:

1. Ether subscription and related services provided to Schools
2. School fee payments made by parents/guardians/students through the Ether Platform

By using the Platform, you agree to the terms below.

1. Ether Subscription (for Schools)

1. Non-Refundable Subscription Fees

- All subscription, implementation, onboarding, training, and related fees payable by Schools to Ether are non-refundable, unless expressly agreed otherwise in the applicable School Agreement.

2. Term and Cancellation

- The term of the Ether subscription, including any lock-in period, minimum term or academic-year commitment (typically one academic term/year), is governed by the School Agreement.
- Any early termination, renewal, or non-renewal of the subscription is to be managed strictly in accordance with the School Agreement.
- Ether is not obligated to refund any portion of subscription fees for partial periods of use or early termination unless explicitly stated in the School Agreement.

3. Change of Plan / Additional Modules

- Upgrades or additional modules (if offered) may be subject to separate pricing and terms.
- Unless otherwise specified, fees for such add-ons are also non-refundable.

2. School Fees Collected via Ether

Ether facilitates online fee collection on behalf of Schools. For clarity:

- Ether does not decide fee amounts, due dates, concessions or refund rules.
- All such decisions and policies are determined exclusively by the respective School.

1. No Independent Refund Policy by Ether

- Ether does not offer or operate any independent refund or cancellation policy for School fees collected through the Platform.
- All refund, cancellation and adjustment decisions related to School fees are governed by the respective School’s policies.

2. Role of Ether

- Ether acts as a technology platform and payment facilitator that enables parents/guardians/students to pay School fees through integrated payment gateways and banks.
- Amounts collected are remitted to the School’s designated bank account in accordance with settlement cycles and the School Agreement.

3. How to Request a Refund or Cancellation (Parents/Guardians)

- If you wish to request a refund, cancellation, modification or clarification of a fee payment, you must contact your School directly.
- The School will review your request in line with its policies and, if approved, will provide instructions to Ether and/or the payment gateway to process any refund.

4. Processing of Approved Refunds

- Once Ether receives a clear written instruction from the School to process a refund (including relevant transaction identifiers and amount), Ether will initiate the refund via the payment gateway or bank used for the original transaction.
- The actual credit of the refund to your account will be subject to the payment gateway and bank’s processing timelines and policies.
- Typical timelines and any applicable charges (if any) are governed by the payment gateway and/or your bank and are outside Ether’s direct control.

3. Failed, Pending or Duplicate Transactions

1. Failed or Pending Transactions

- In cases where your account is debited but the transaction status is not updated on the Platform or remains pending/failed, please check your bank or card statement.
- If the amount has indeed been debited and not reversed within a reasonable time, you may:
  - Contact your School with your transaction details, and/or
  - Write to Ether at schoolsuccess@joinether.in with:
    - Student name,
    - School name,
    - Class/section,
    - Date and time of payment,
    - Payment mode,
    - Transaction reference/ID, and
    - Screenshot of debit from your bank/payment app (if available).
- Ether will coordinate with the payment gateway and/or bank to validate and, where applicable, facilitate reversal or confirmation of the transaction.

2. Duplicate Payments

- If you have accidentally made a duplicate payment for the same fee, please notify your School and email Ether at schoolsuccess@joinether.in with relevant transaction details.
- Any refund or adjustment of duplicate payments will be processed strictly as per the School’s approval and instructions.

4. Chargebacks and Disputes

If you raise a chargeback/dispute with your bank or card issuer:

- The bank/payment network will initiate a dispute process, and Ether, along with the payment gateway and the School, may need to provide supporting transaction records.
- Resolution timelines are governed by bank and payment network rules.
- If the chargeback is resolved in favour of the School, you may remain liable to the School for the fee amount as per School policy.

You are encouraged to first contact your School and Ether support (schoolsuccess@joinether.in) to resolve any fee-related issues before initiating a chargeback.

5. Changes to This Policy

Ether may update this Refund and Cancellation Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify Schools and users via the Platform or email.

Your continued use of the Platform after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
